Since 2020, I’ve been contracting with local and national non-profits in the social justice and arts spaces, including: NW Alliance of Alternative Media Education, AiyaProductions, and Keys Beats Bars, as well as for profit companies like Lones Management Consulting.
For 10 years I was freelancing as a graphic and multimedia designer. Simultaneously, I was an educator and performing artist, leading projects, touring schools and festivals. Those experiences taught me so much, including how to set up efficient management systems and facilitate diverse personalities. In 2020, I enrolled in a certificate program to upskill my design work to UX/UI Design. From there, I discovered a passion for engineering and the skills kept growing. As a result, my projects continue to grow in scope.
My experience in UX/UI design supported my transition into frontend engineering. Curious and enthusiastic to know how everything works, I made my way to the backend, building servers with NodeJS. My current learning goals are database design and machine learning.
As a designer, I work to find truth and integrity between the product or service and its stakeholders. Design decisions are validated with research and compared with alternatives to best reach stakeholder goals. Together with my clients, I dig into the purpose of each product, understand who is using it and why, and make it better for everyone. My processes are transparent and well communicated.Download CV
